Enemy design is great, with staples like skeletons and mythical beasts complemented by some downright bizarre beasties, like a rainbow trout with legs and a trident.
I still don’t understand why Nintendo insists on having multiple commands on the same button when there are unused or duplicated controls. If I accidentally throw my fiancée off a cliff when I was just trying to make Mario dash one more time then I fear we may end up getting a divorce before we even get married!
30 years on, we still don’t know what the titular secret that Monkey Island holds actually is. Original co-creator Ron Gilbert suggested in a Reddit AMA back in 2017 that it is “Guybrush is a banana”, but some have suggested that he might not have been being serious.
There’s just nothing that I can find to recommend 100ft Robot Golf when there are countless better games out there and that’s sad as I wanted to like it. This is a mechanical mess that a whole crate of WD40 won’t fix.
You’ll be breeding animals, and the quality of parents defines the quality of offsprings, with menus dedicated to life expectancy, change of illness etc. all to consider. Left to their own devices and animals will interbreed, and those four peafowl you started with can quickly become 50-odd, many of which are both brother and uncle simultaneously.
In a manner not entirely unlike Breath of the Wild, Immortals Fenyx Rising doesn’t hold your hand or expect you to follow a set path. There are indeed story quests to complete, but actually, you will get just as much fun, if not more, by exploring the world and discovering your own way to play.
Here begins my journey into George Lucas’ universe then. Not with thunderous applause: but with a lethargic sigh of “I suppose I ought to watch these things before the new one comes out.”
“Paul Rose, aka Mr Biffo, is the mind behind Teletext gaming magazine Digitiser, as well as its modern-day reincarnation Digitiser 2000, entertainment website Bubblegun, and the short film series Mr Biffo’s Found Footage.”
His latest project is a gaming show branded under the Digitiser name, now live on Kickstarter. He’s agreed to talk to us, because we somehow managed to convince him that we’re professionals. “
“An angular chap blows a single fart sound from a trumpet, then looks in a confused fashion at it. We know how he feels. But there’s no time to be confused, as the next trailer is even more bewildering. A guy in a bathtub introduces himself as “bathtub guy” and tells us all about the game that he’s in from Squanch Games. It’s called Trover Saves the Universe and it’s super colourful, very artistically interesting (think Gang Beasts meets Ratchet and Clank), and it sounds an awful lot like Rick and Morty.”
It’s the uncertain psychological terror that will always get me with a game. It’s often said that what you don’t see is usually the most terrifying thing and that definitely rings true for me.
With that in mind, I’ve compiled my list of the five most disturbing foes that you will face in gaming.
“Although it had already been announced that a new Dizzy title was to be revealed yesterday alongside a kickstarter of new biography of the twins by Fusion Retro Books, few realised that the reveal would be the long-lost missing title.”
“I can’t stress enough how much I enjoyed Ni no Kuni II. It’s one of the best JRPGs in years and it’s a must-buy for fans of the genre. It’s cute, thoroughly addictive and has more tweaks and statistics than you can shake a sword at. If you enjoyed the first game, you will love this.”
